Stayed a night here during shooting of Shivaji Surathkal 2. The place is quite surrounded by nature and transports you to your grandma’s place when we were kids. The team was very hospitable. The food was homely and I had a terrific meal. Felt I should come back with my family soon.

A peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature.
Homely food - Light and fulfilling. Kitchen and dining areas are maintained very clean.

Located in a beautiful and serene place with areca and other trees all around.A small stream is flowing just next to home stay. Best place for a silent and relaxed vacation. Hospitality is good with polite staff. We had a memorable stay at the resort.
We were a group of 7 people who stayed at Areca County for 3 days and we all loved and enjoyed every day of our stay from food, location, cleaniness, to the staff behaviour.
On day 1 we came around night time when it was also raining quite heavily, however we were welcomed by the staff team who escorted us quickly to our rooms with umbrella. We were then served some delicious home-made vegetarian dishes for dinner which included chappati, rice, bhendi sabji, paisam, etc. The rooms were well maintained and clean along with having all the essential facilities.
The staff team, which included Mr. Sachin and others, were always quick to respond to our requests whenever we needed coffee or kaishaya. They also promptly ensured that all our rooms were cleaned daily by the cleaning staff.
The place is surrounded by all different kinds of trees including banana, areca, mango, papaya, and beetle leaves. Further, the owner himself was kind enough to offer visitors a guided trip to their massive Areca Thota.
We also enjoyed the breakfast there on all the 3 days, with the menu having items like poha, idli, shavige bath, mangalore bun, paddu, and bisibelle bath. The dining area reminded us about the beautiful houses which we see in old Kannada movies and serials.
Overall, we were mesmerised by our experience here and would definitely recommend it to all our family and friends.

Areca County is one of the finest homestays in Honnavar region that offers a traditional stay with modern facilities. The homestay is amidst the areca farms where one can experience lots of greenary, excess oxygen, chirping birds & rustling leaves. The host was also very prompt in ensuring that we are having a good time at their homestay. The caretakers Sachin & team were extremely humble & soft spoken.
Their local cuisine was also delicious. Upon our request they also prepared the curries that we preferred. Being a vegetarian, their only-veg menu was a plus for me. The aspect of this homestay that I liked the most is the "cleanliness". Everything was absolutely spotless.
They have ample parking area. They have also kept cycles for the guests. The Wi-Fi had a good bandwidth. Everything was spot on. I would recommend this place with all confidence to anyone who's reading this review. I also intend to visit this place at least once every year with a sole purpose to stay there.

it was choice of my wife to stay here, i need to mention having a worked for an well known hospitality chain, the eye to detail is mind blowing, There are 2 types of rooms available (Family cottage - 2 Adults+2 Kids, Deluxe Cottage - 2 Adults+1 Kid). We choose Deluxe cottage. All rooms face the 1929 dining hall,
The rooms entry is by steps carved out of locally made stones, rounded off at edges, feels good to sit here during morning/evening to enjoy the birds chirping and fres breeze.
The grand portico/sit-out is well designed and makes you feel nostalgic experience taking back to traditional homes of Grand parents.
Door/Windows reminded my childhood memories, with a touch of luxury to avoid any mosquito entry, Cloth hanger stand and umbrella to serve heavy rains.
The rooms are setup with an user friendly experience switches being ear marked for easy lights/fans/AC.
The mattreses are king size, bed is traditionally designed, to accomodate 2 adults and a kid for a perfect sleep to wake up fresh.
TV/AC/Hot water kettle/Hair dryer/Cups/glass water bottles with a work table have been dealt with all nitty-gritty in the room.
Bathroom is well designed with all toiletries, the shampoo dispenser is a good thought, hot/cold water pressure is well managed.
Food is VEG ONLY. Breakfast consists of specialities of Land, lunch/Dinner need to ordered on chargeable basis.
In the library areas can we also introduce childhood games, chakka bhara and similar to that.
After dinner, if required can provide Betel leaf+ fresh ripened Areca, to provide the Essence of the soil at ARECA COUNTY
